Redwood is a magnificent, substantial (780m2), luxury dwelling in an absolutely idyllic setting overlooking the Helford River.
Externally the house is clad with White Cedar Shingles which were imported from Nantucket for that New England look. The window reveals have specially fabricated powder coated stainless steel trims.
Full of eco features, a large array of photovoltaic solar panels provides electricity, and a heat recovery system (by Ubbink) allows the house to be ventilated without wasting energy.
Inside, bathrooms are courtesy of Villeroy and Boch, and floor coverings throughout the property include natural hardwood and limestone tiles complete with visible fossils!
Now that Redwood is finished, it's easy to forget the earlier work that went into the extensive ground works - the footings were 3m deep and 180m3 of concrete went into the oversite alone, presenting the Chapman team on site with plenty of challenges at the time. Most visitors to Redwood would agree that all the effort was well worth it!
