Some fairly tough Cornish winter weather during certain stages of construction provided a challenge for the Chapman site team working on this contemporary new-build home at Constantine, near Padstow. Fortunately the site was sand covered which kept the mud problems to a minimum! The property which has a notably open interior layout was constructed in timber frame on the site of a former dwelling which had been demolished. Luxury individual houses are a Chapman specialism, and on this one we worked with CSA (Architects), Studs (Timber Frame) and Richard Gowan (Consulting Engineer). " As we are based remotely from the site, it was essential that we had a builder who was communicative and willing to work with clients as much by email and telephone as site visits. The reason we chose Chapman was the offer of a permanent site manager who would co-ordinate all aspects throughout the project." - William & Serena Luttrell-Hunt, clients. Photography © Hugh Hastings
