Following on from the success of many previous barn conversion projects, Boskensoe Barns at Mawnan Smith, Falmouth turned out superbly. The barns were originally converted by P Chapman into four new dwellings, and the project was won after a competitive tender process. A traditional treatment of the exterior has been complemented by features such as exposed oak beams inside. The kitchens however, have a decidedly contemporary design. Phase II of the project, involved creating a fifth unit, known as The Granary. Architects for the scheme were CSA and the Structural Engineers were John Offer (phase I) and JHA Consulting (Phase II), all companies based in Truro. Interior design for Phase II was by Iroka of Hayle. Photographs of Phase II are by Hugh Hastings.
